Level 1 Certification

Requirements:

  • Complete a 2-day TAGteach Level1 Certification seminar live event
OR
OR 
  • Complete the Introduction to TAGteach online course  (cost $400USD)
    • completed journal as specified in the course
    • completed worksheets as specified in the course
    • Three videos:
      1. A video showing you reciting the TAGteach Fundamentals with cue cards
      2. A video showing you reciting the TAGteach Session Script with cue cards
      3. 5-8 minute video showing you applying TAGteach principles as specified in the course.

You may need to pay the $75 assessment fee if you registered before the summer of 2022

The fee is now included in the course fee. If you registered before we included the fee in the registration price, you'll be notified of this once you complete the final exam and you'll get access to a payment link at that time. This fee is to cover the cost of evaluating your journal, worksheets and video and providing personal feedback. 

Objectives:

  1. Demonstrate a basic understanding of TAGteach principles including: 
  2. Use a marker as data and positive reinforcement
  3. Understand, formulate, and implement the Focus Funnel 
  4. Create proper tag points using the WOOF protocol
  5. Integrate the TAGteach tools into an existing lessons

Level 2 Certification

Required if using the TAGteach member logo on any form of advertising
Prerequisite - Level 1 TAGteach Certification

Evaluation fee for Level 2 certification (fee not required for Virtual instructor-led course learners): Click to pay $75.00

Requirements:

  • Attain Level 1 Certification as outlined above. 
  • Perform and provide written documentation of 10 hours of TAGteaching using an approved audible marker. Click here for a template for documentation.
  • Submit a training journal documenting your progress. Click here for a sample journal.
  • Be a member in good standing with TAGteach. You must remain a member in good standing to retain your certification.
  • Attend a 2-day advanced workshop or a Virtual Level 2 instructor-led course. Click here for more on the Virtual Course
  • Five videos (1 and 2 exempt if you already submitted these):
    1. A video showing you reciting the TAGteach Fundamentals with cue cards
    2. A video showing you reciting the TAGteach Session Script with cue cards
    3. Submit 3 videos showing you conducting 3 different TAGteach sessions (max length 7 min each). At least one of the videos must show you using the full TAGteach Session Script. Your teaching video from Level 1 counts also for Level 2 as long as it meets the requirements outlined in the link below

  • If your work is confidential and videos are not allowed, you can set up a role play to simulate your sessions. Please send an email to annew@tagteach.com to discuss prior to submitting your videos.

How to Submit Your Homework and Videos

If you're taking a virtual instructor-led course, this info is included with the course

If you attended a live Advanced Workshop and you need to submit your journal, timesheets and videos, please contact annew@tagteach.com and request a Google Drive folder to upload to.

Objectives:

  1. Gain experience using TAGteach tools
  2. Decide when, where, how and why to use the focus funnel and tag points and self tagging
  3. Learn to recognize when student and or teacher need a higher rate of reinforcement
  4. Improve the use and timing of the audible marker

Level 3 Certification

Required to be considered to be eligible to use materials created by TAGteach in presentations or any form of consulting

Prerequisite - TAGteach Level 2 Certification

Evaluation fee for Level 3 certification: Click to pay $100.00

Requirements:

  • Have been active in the application of TAGteach in one or more fields for at least nine months.
  • Document a minimum of twenty-five additional hours using TAGteach tools. Click here for a template for documentation.
  • Provide a class/course syllabus for your chosen field, including: how you will introduce and integrate TAGteach into the program. Click here for a sample syllabus.
  • Attend a second TAGteach seminar or Workshop and present your work with TAGteach tools to attendees.

    The Level 3 presentation must show current best practices for TAGteach. If you haven't been to a seminar since before 2016, then you can take  Fundamentals of TAGteach Online Course to make sure you are up to date. The course shows our new script. You don't have to use every part of this in your lessons, but you do need to use the language. Please see the video requirements page for the list of allowable (and not allowable phrases). Your presentation should be about 15 minutes long. You can use PowerPoint and/or videos or you can just talk. We prefer if you have a video. Your presentation must contain the following elements:

    1) description of the population and the teaching goal

    2) description of the tag points that you used

    3) description of the results of your teaching

    4) comments on what went well and what could be improved

  • Complete the Introduction to TAGteach online course and submit journals, worksheets and video (you will get free enrolment) Please send a request to joan@tagteach.com for a free enrolment code. If you got your Level 1 through a live workshop or a virtual instructor-led course, you are still required to complete the Introduction to TAGteach online course

  • Five videos (1 and 2 exempt if you already submitted these):
    1. A video showing you reciting the TAGteach Fundamentals with cue cards
    2. A video showing you reciting the TAGteach Session Script with cue cards
    3. Submit three 5-7 minute videos of you using TAGteach in 3 different applications (the videos you submitted for Level 2 will suffice if they showed different applications). If you have already submitted videos, then at the most you will have 2 more to submit.

  • Be a member in good standing with TAGteach. You must remain a member in good standing to retain your certification.

  • Sign a contract with TAGteach International. 

Objectives:

  1. Become proficient at using TAGteach tools
  2. Explain and demonstrate the use of: the audible marker, focus funnel, tag points, point of success, value-added and causation tag points and reinforcement plans
  3. Be able to evaluate an existing teaching and learning procedure and identify ways in which to improve it with TAGteach
  4. Identify student behaviors that demonstrate frustration or fatigue and how to alleviate this using TAGteach tools. 
  5. Create a "game" atmosphere while teaching using TAGteach tools

TAGteach Faculty

Required to present TAGteach Certification seminars

Admission to the TAGteach Faculty is by invitation only. TAGteach Faculty members are highly qualified and experienced in the practical application of TAGteach and in the teaching of these skills to others.

Faculty are actively using TAGteach on a regular basis and have applied it in several different fields.

Faculty have attended numerous live TAGteach training events and have led these events.
